The following steps provide a method to backup and restore SLICEWare Sensor Database and Settings.
The resulting backup is an effective way to duplicate an installation on another PC or compile files that may be required by DTS support to resolve issues. Using the files in the folder created in the backup process is helpful.
In the SLICEWare PREPARE tab on the ribbon bar, choose 'Archive-->Backup'
Select all items. The dialog displays the file location and name. Click 'Backup'
- Sensors: Creates the 'Data.SensorDB.xml' file that contains all the information in the Prepare tab with the exception of the sensitivity (cal records)
- Sensor Models: (Not currently implemented or required) Creates the 'Model.SensorDB.xml' file that contains the information (if created) in the Prepare tab Manufacturer and Model fields
- Calibration History: Creates the 'Calibration.SensorDB.xml' file that contains all the information in the Prepare tab for calibration history of the sensor sensitivities
- Settings: Creates the 'SLICEWare.exe.Config' and 'user.config' file that contains all the operating information for SLICEWare. The user.config file is stored in the 'c:\user\...\AppData\Local\Diversified_Technical_Sys' and contains IP address and other information
The folder is created with the default name of 'YYYY-MM-DD HHMMSS'
To restore the backup to another installation, keep SLICEWare closed, then simply copy the contents from a backup folder to the root of the new SLICEWare folder, for instance: C:\DTS\SLICEWare\1.08.0816.
